General Information:

     Wichita, KS is the original home of the 108 yr old Coleman Co. Inc. It still has a factory that produces coolers and jugs and liquid gas lanterns and stoves. There is also a plant that makes and fills the propane gas bottles.

     The Coleman Collectors Convention will be held in the Central Community Church gymnasium. It’s located at 6100 West Maple St., Wichita KS (316)943-1800 and has very easy access with lots of parking and close to lots of motels on Kellogg St. (Hwy 54 west).

Tentative Schedule:

Thursday - June 12, 2008: FREE factory tours of Coleman will be in the morning ONLY between 8 & 12:
8:00am-9:30am:
Coleman Main Plant, 3600 N Hydraulic. Meet at the west entrance guard shack.
10am-12pm: Coleman Beacon (Propane) Plant, 5605 N. 119th St. N.
  Registration & Table set up - 1:00 pm thru 4:30 pm
  Members-only free picnic, Coleman Factory Outlet, 235 N. St. Francis, 5pm-10pm. Light-up with anything you like.
Friday - June 13, 2008: Continued registration and setup at 8:00am
  Show opens to ICCC Members and Coleman retirees ONLY.
  Banquet (Reservations only) Eberly Farm, 13111 W. 21st. N., 5:30pm-11:00pm
  Special lightup at the banquet location, LANTERNS ONLY
Saturday June 14, 2008: Show opens to public, 8:00am-2:00pm
  Auction at 4:00pm

Travel & Lodging info:

     We will send out a map in the January issue of the newsletter.

     We have a block of 30 rooms being held at the Best Western Airport motel which is on the west side of Wichita on Hwy 54 ( Kellogg St. ). Rooms will cost $72.00 + tax (13.3%). It will include a free breakfast which is between a continental breakfast and a full buffet. Rooms for that rate can be either 1 King or 2 Queens. We think this will be convenient for those who fly or drive. The motel will have shuttle service to & from the airport and anywhere within 3 miles which includes the convention site.

     Motel number for reservations is 1- 316-942-5600. Ask for the Coleman Collectors group rate. If you have any problems you may ask for the group rates supervisor, Kent Mix.
